The Avondale Public Library offers access to electronic resources including computer equipment, software programs, informational databases, and the Internet via its public computers as well as the wireless networks located within the Libraries. The Library’s goal is to make these resources convenient, easy-to-use, and readily available to all users of the Library. To review the full policy, please see our Computer Usage Policy.
Computer Use Procedures
Users of the Library’s computers are required to have a valid Avondale Public Library card on hand. The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage to users arising from their use of the computers. Visitor one-day computer passes may be purchased for $1.00.
Computer labs are available at both libraries consisting of:

- Internet Browsers
- Chrome
- Edge
- Firefox
- Microsoft Office 2016
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Publisher
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
Printing: Computer generated prints are charged per page. Patrons are required to pay for all pages printed.
- Black and White: $0.25/page
- Color: $1.25/page
Time Limits: Public computers are set to run for one-hour sessions, however, time extensions in one-hour increments will automatically be offered through the computer during non-busy times.
Blocks on computer usage: Computer access may be blocked for the following reasons; violation of the Computer Use Policy, fines of $10.00 or more, or an expired library card.
Saving Files and Documents: Avondale Public Library computers only allow the temporary saving of files to the computer during your active session. Patrons are responsible for deleting any saved files when finished with them. For privacy and security, it is highly recommended that patrons save files to a USB drive or cloud storage medium.

WiFi: Available at both libraries and select City locations like Friendship Park. Just look for the "Avondale-Wifi" WiFi network ID on your mobile device and follow the connection instructions.
Faxing/Scanning: Both libraries offer Document Stations that allow users to scan and save to multiple locations. Faxing and scanning are free, but there is a fee for printing (see above).
Mobile/Wireless Printing: Print from a wireless device, your home, or on the go and pick it up at Avondale Public Library.
Chromebooks & Hotspots: Patrons can check out a Mobile WiFi Hotspot or a Chromebook & Mobile WiFi Hotspot kit.
