5G Mobile Hotspots at Avondale Public Library for Checkout
Check out a mobile internet hotspot from Avondale Public Library. Bring the internet to your home or on the go with these compact, wireless kits. Ideal for students trying to attend virtual classes or job seekers who need to fill out applications and sit for virtual interviews. Hotspot lending works as follows:
- Wi‐Fi hotspots may be borrowed by Avondale Public Library card holders with library cards in good standing (no unpaid fines or lost materials). A valid Adult Avondale Public Library card must be presented at the time of checkout.
- Patrons will need to fill out a waiver at time of checkout.
- Checkout is limited to one per household at any given time.
- Hotspots check out for 21 days and cannot be renewed.
- Borrowers, along with a library staff member, will verify that all parts are present at the time of checkout and check‐in (Mobile Hotspot Device, Mobile Hotspot Power Adapter, USB-C Cable, Mobile Hotspot Kit Case, Hotspot Battery, SIM Card, and instructions.).
- When the hotspot reaches 1 day past due it will be deactivated, rendering the device unusable.
- Patrons will be charged $25 for Mobile Hotspots returned to an indoor OR outdoor book
drop. - Hotspots Kits that are not returned will result in a replacement cost charged to the borrower’s account and potential Collection Agency fees.
- The patron is responsible for costs associated with loss, theft, or damage of the Mobile
Hotspot and/or peripherals:- Total Mobile Hotspot Kit Replacement Cost = $198.00
- Mobile Hotspot Power Adapter = $9.99
- USB‐C Cable = $12.95
- Mobile Hotspot Kit Case =$10.00
- Hotspot Battery = $19.99
- Missing or Damaged SIM Card = $198.00 (Total cost of Hotspot Kit replacement).

Funding for the kits comes from a combination of sources including grants from Valley of the Sun United Way and the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
